Pregnancy is a trying time for your whole body, and your teeth are no exception. While you're expecting, the likelihood of developing gingivitis, or inflammation of the gums, rises dramatically. Unfortunately, gingivitis has been linked to premature labor and low birth weight in babies. The disease can often be avoided, however, when you take extra steps to care for your pregnant teeth.
