Fetal Development Week EightVideo Description:Welcome to pregnancy week eight, where your now kidney bean-sized fetus has developed twenty finger and toe buds! And that's not all the fetal development that's going on! Check out this video update for more. Transcript: Can’t wait to kiss every one of those tiny fingers and toes? Well they’re beginning to emerge out of your baby’s hands and feet this week! In addition to the development of twenty digits, your eight-week old baby’s body continues to get ever bigger. Your little baby is now about the size of a kidney bean! By now, the buds that will develop into your baby’s genitals have also begun forming, but don’t ask the sex of your little one just yet. An ultrasound won’t be able to detect the genitals for at least another ten weeks. In other news, your baby’s intestines are developing quickly! They’re SO large, in fact, that there isn’t enough room for them in your baby’s abdomen.  As a result, the intestines will protrude into the umbilical cord for up to a few weeks. Your baby’s brain is also growing-in functionality, that is. Nerve cells in that tiny brain, are now beginning to branch out and connect, forming basic neural pathways.  Keep up to date on your little one’s fascinating journey by checking back next week for the latest installment about your baby’s progress.  Category:Fetal Development/Month 2 Tags:8 weeks pregnant, eight weeks pregnant, fetus at 8 weeks, fetus at eight weeks, fetal development week 8, fetal development week eight week eight of pregnancy, week 8 of pregnancy, pregnancy month 2, pregnancy month two pregnancy video, pregnancy week by week, pregnancy by week, week by week, fetal development, fetal development video, baby development, embryo digits, baby fingers, baby toes
