Transcript:
You’re pregnant— not dead! And that means that you’ll still want to engage in fun activities…without harming your child, of course. If you’re expecting and headed to a rock concert, this is probably a safe activity for your little one. Just remember, your baby’s cochlea, or inner ear, is fully developed by 22 weeks, which means after that the baby can hear everything that you can hear. So, to protect your baby’s hearing, you’ll want concerts to be an occasional indulgence, not an every night affair. If you choose to go to an amusement park while you’re pregnant, you may find that you have quite a few limitations. Although most rides are not a good idea,, there are some, like bumper cars, that are particularly dangerous when you’re expecting. Repeat collisions against the steering wheel could result in bleeding or placental abruption, making a bumper car ride dangerous indeed. If you’re looking for an out-of-the-ordinary activity that’s safer for your baby, you might want to try sitting in a massage chair. This harmless activity feels like gentle exercising to the baby, and like blissful relaxation to you.
