Video Description:What's the truth about age and fertility? Is pregnancy still a real possibility - or are you too far past your peak fertile age? Being older can make conception harder, but infertility treatments can help.Transcript:Having a healthy pregnancy, and a healthy baby, becomes increasingly difficult with age. Why? A woman is born with all of the eggs she’ll ever have. After puberty, she begins to ovulate and releases one of these eggs every month. As she ages, therefore, her supply of eggs dwindles. This reduces her chances of being able to conceive. As a result, the likelihood of a woman getting pregnant in any particular month, under optimal circumstances, is about 25 percent for a woman in her 20s, 15 percent for women in their early 30s, 10 percent in the mid-30s and just five percent for women over 40. Another difficulty with pregnancy later in life is that the number of genetically normal eggs that a woman has decreases with time. This leads to a higher rate of miscarriage and a greater chance for genetic abnormalities in babies of older women. In fact, the odds of a woman in her 20s having a child with Down syndrome are about one in 1,200. In contrast, among children born to women over 40, one child in 38 has a genetic abnormality. While this can be difficult for women trying to conceive after the age of 30, other fertility options, like using donor eggs, are quite successful in later life.Category:Fertility & Conception/InfertilityTags:age and fertility, age fertility, baby, conceive, conceiving, conception, down syndrome, early pregnancy, fertility, fertility boost, fertility rates, getting pregnant, how to get pregnant, infertility, miscarriage, older women fertility, ovulation, peak fertile age, pregnancy, pregnancy conception, pregnancy signs, pregnancy symptoms, pregnancy test, pregnancy tests, pregnancy video, pregnant, trying to conceive

I have my cycle every month but its very light and last about 3-4days. My dr said I could get pregnant, it just may take some time...my thing is my time is running out. Help please.
I am 41 years old and would like to have another baby. I tried Clomid, a very small dose, for a year and still did not get pregnant. I have a 17 year old son, and I am very much wanting another baby.
1 time meaning 5 days and the other medicines need to try or can you take clomid longer if so how long? Is it expensive? I am 42 so kid of scary only 5percent chance but alot of older women are having baby's so not true. RIGHT ?
I have gone threw invitro several times fresh cycle frozen cycles I had only one positive pregnatcy but then my hormone level was very low so the nurse told me not to get my hopes up. I am 33 yrs old and want to try again. I have no other problems besides that I need to go threw invitro because I have no fallopian tubes, my question is why don't I get pregnat????
I had a miscarriage 2 years and a half ago and I've been trying since them to get pregnant without any result, the Doctors told me that I'm ok but still not pregnant...
Are you using an ovulation kit? I had a miscarriage 8 months ago and I as well have been trying! we've tried for 6 yrs. I did relize that I ovulate 9 to 10 days after my period not on the 14th day as alot of women do! so check yourself out and make sure you are doing it on the RIGHT day!!I know it is frustrating but don't give up!!!!
